Hello! I hope everyone was able to enjoy this extra day! Jumping into this week's expectations:
BEHAVIOR - I am working on a new daily reporting system that will more effectively let you know what we need to work on if the day doesn't go smoothly. This will begin with the new March calendar. Some of my little friends have had a backslide since December break & we need your help to get back on track!
SOCIAL STUDIES - George Washington Carver TEST THURSDAY. Study/review materials will come home Tuesday. We move immediately on to learning about RUBY BRIDGES Friday, 2/21.
MATH - Continuing to work on place value, representing tens and ones.
WRITING - Continuing our work on expressing our opinion, explaining our reasons with details and closure.
READING - I will be having students read with me individually to check their reading level, as well as their sight word acquisition. You may have noticed that we often have half-page quick assessments, These serve to guide instruction as well as usually being posted as grades toward report cards. Teachers also meet weekly and discuss selected assessments to share ideas and suggestions.
THANK YOU for continuing to send in SNACK DAILY. Please don't assume I have snacks to share. Sometimes, yes....but not always. :-)
Students should have one library book AT SCHOOL daily. One can go home, the other stays for our use. I also try to allow students to visit the library more frequently than our scheduled visits, but if the books are at home then obviously they cannot. Thanks!
I hope you are planning to help beautify MOE as well as come to International Night, both coming up soon! Check out the website for details.
These are some high points - not a full list....
Many topics carry over from week to week.
